no i am serious and you did not misread the topic. I teach technology including a class called INternet - I was told today that I am one of the top ten 'offenders' for internet usage - ummmm - i am pretty sure i use the internet all day in order to teach - SO here I sit trying to contemplate how to cut down on my internet usage. I think my new goal is to have as much internet usage as possible - maybe i can log on to all 32 computers and pull up the internet all day - now wouldn't that be fun :)
How many times have you gone to change a diaper and found a cell phone? well at least it wasn't the cell hone i use. The funny thing was that he had a onsie on so he put it down the front of the onsie and tucked it into the top of the diapers. We are dressed in many layers here due to the extreme cold so He had on a sweatshirt, onsie, and jeans. I didn't even notice it was there until I started to take off the diaper. It is 'his' cell that he carries around calling people so it did not have a battery or anything in it.
owen is obsessed with trains - completely - every-time we go over train tracks I hear choo choo for the next 15 minutes - this morning he got the thrill of his life when the train blew its whistle as we were crossing the tracks - He was so excited he was still jabbering on when we got to the sitters. I am not sure her kids enjoyed the enthusiasm of Owen at 6:30 am.
we went to buy a WII today with Mike's gift cards. They wouldn't give us one because they can't sell them until tomorrow when they open - How lame is that??
We did go over to circuit city and got some awesome deals on some of the WII components, but have enough $ on his gift card to buy the system at Best Buy. So we have not yet decided what to do tomorrow since church starts at 10 when they open. Mike is working the soundboard so he can not go to Best Buy, so i may have to skip church in the morning to go buy one. hmmmmm.
my son loves books - in fact they are everywhere in our house - maybe because i used to teach kindergarten adn i brought my classroom library home with me. But Owen does love books. We have boxes and shelves of books for Owen all around the house. My living room has a box of books that are now spread across the entire room because he has been 'reading' all afternoon. Apparently books also made great balls for basketball. He is talking up a storm and reading to me all afternoon - now if only he would have taken a nap
my back hurts but that isn't the only ouch in the house.
Mike managed to chomp into his finger yesterday changing the wiper blades on my car. He was and is still bleeding but i refuse to look at it so I really hope it heals soon.
Owen fell again. Okay he is fine - this time he managed to scrape up his nose on the ground. His first day back at the sitter too - she felt horrible he was walking to the car and tripped on his new shoes - at least he walks for her. He seems to think mommy should carry him everywhere.
because I am pretty sure the sun isn't up and the child should not be awake. So for an hour Mike tried to get him to go back to sleep. He finally gave up and came back to bed while the child cried at the baby gate in front of his room. I gave it another 20 minutes or so and went and got the child who immediately started wildly pointing toward to the kitchen. He wanted milk, so I got him a sippy and set him down in front of cartoons in the living room. It was still very early. Said child is standing in the middle of the living room watching cartoon when he starts crying at the top of his lungs and then throws himself to the ground. HUH?? I think I have a two year old here visiting today. Does anyone want a non sleeping, crying, tantrum throwing toddler?? I should mention that he was up late last night too - we put him to bed at his normal time but he was talking to his dino for over an hour and a half.
Yes I am nesting - no surprise it finally got to me - I scrubbed our bathroom top to bottom - Mike is afraid to use ti now. But seriously it was gross. My hairy husband doesn't do a very good job cleaning up after himself when he shaves or cuts his hair. So there was hair EVERYWHERE - seriously gross. I told him he better start cleaning up after himself when he shaves - he thinks a beard might be a good idea now.
We finally shampooed the carpet in the living room. After having a child pretty much live on the floor for 7 weeks in a stinky cast it needed to be done and badly. It looks so much better now. We re-arranged some furniture and hung up a picture we had been talking about for over a year. We also moved a great deal of Owen's toys down to our lower level. I am reclaiming my liviing room for living.
Owen started walking again yesterday. It has been a great two days watching him toddler all over the house. He seems to finally be comfortable with his legs again. yeah for small miracles. He is sleeping better in his big boy bed and even napping some. We finally went from two naps down to one but it seems to be working out great.
Only one more day home with my little man until I have to go back to work - very sad but I do have a maternity leave coming soon :) Although not too soon. I am praying everyday that this one comes late.
Owen now hates diaper changes no matter how wet or stinky he is. He throws a fit when i try to change him - even in the morning when he wakes up, he starts screaming nonononononononono and tries to struggle away until i pin him down to get a new diaper on him. I don't know why this just started. He used to be so easy to change and now it is nearly impossible between my growing belly and his wiggling
my favorite new toddler item. Owen loves it. I never though snuggling with a piece of glowing plastic would be so cute.
It is a great invention. Small enough for kids to e able to carry around with them, rechargeable, safe to leave with them alone. Easy turn on and off.
I didn't like nightlights because he could go over to the outlet and pull them out of the wall and then there was an exposed outlet. The tyke light solved that problem and it now Owen's new bedtime playmate
