The verdict of today's lunches

So I let the boys pick what they wanted for their main part of their lunch last night. Owen picked a peanut butter sandwich which I don't think he ever even looked at until I came to pick him up from lunch saw it untouched and made him take several bites even though lunch was technically over. He also ate none of his watermelon. So he did eat one oreo, trail mix, and applesauce. hmmm not as healthy as I had planned.

Logan had asked for turkey pinwheels, whole wheat flatbread, turkey, lettuce, and one slice provolone cheese. Looked so good I actually stole a slice when I dropped him off. He ate one slice and left the other 4 to sit. He did eat his watermelon, trail mix, applesauce, and one oreo. A little bit healthier than his brother. So Logan wins today's lunch award.

But that being said Logan did steal his brothers water bottle before lunch and mysteriously his in somewhere in the classroom. I can't find it - Logan hid hi own in the diaper bag soaking several pull ups and diapers. Owen was very upset and did not want to go to lunch because he couldn't find his water. I have him a small bottle of water and sent him on his way. I honestly think he didn't even lift up the top part of his lunch box to see his sandwich.

Oh well try again tomorrow - I am deciding tomorrow's menu because obviously it doesn't matter who decides to determine what will get eaten

I suck at blogging - here it goes Again - Lunches

I am becoming super mommy in the art of making school lunches. This summer was going to be my challenge to make both boys healthy, fun lunches that actually get eaten. Since I am their teacher but don't sit with them at lunch it allows me to come in at the end and see what they have actually eaten from what I have made. So far it varies from day to day what boy will eat what and some day I think I have made an awesome meal and no one eats.

My mom ordered us hot lunch every single day for our entire school careers. Easy, effective but expensive. The boys school does provide healthy organic school lunches (cool huh) but at a cost of almost $5 per lunch that adds up quickly especially if they aren't even eating most of it.

So the first thing I did was take Owen to the container store and find a few suitable lunch containers. I wanted something that had several small compartments to allow an assortment of foods. he had his favorite and I have mine - right now during the summer Logan is using the one I choose as a favorite. The colorful clip it cube is by far the best size for my toddlers. Owen likes this one better, but I think it is a bit large and bulky for him, in a year or two it will be perfect. I also bought some of the klip it containers for storage. I really like the small rectangular ones.

Let's see what tomorrow brings

Need a house ASAP

So we sold our house and we need to find a new one

We put an offer on a property on Friday and waited and waited and waited. Finally Monday at 6pm we hear back a counter offer - so at least now we are negotiating. But it seems like these negotiations are going to take awhile. annoying - we don't have time to wait around awhile. We have 35 days to be out of our house.

35 DAYS ACKACKACKACK - oh my OH MY

Must go pack something before I loose my mind

Back to school on a chilly morn

We were back to school today - no more sleeping till 7, boo

Of course it was a chilly start to the day because when we woke at 5am there was no heat on in our house. Little man has figured out that there is a light switch on the side of the furnace. And well he is almost 2 so light switches are cool. Unfortunately this one turns off the furnace. He must have done it pretty close to bed time since we didn't realize it until we awoke to a 58 degree house - chilly.

42 days until we have to move
